Let's jump into the ocean of toxicity and learn how to swim through the physical sludge and how to detox your body?
When embarking on a journey to transform your life, it's easy to focus entirely on mindset, goals, and thinking patterns. However, true long-term self-mastery requires you to look beyond the conscious mind and address the physical instrument running the show: your body.
In Week 9 of the 12 Week APA Reset programme - which focuses on the core pillars of being Active Positive & Alive - the focus shifts from the mental mapping of previous weeks into a deep, clinical evaluation of the physical system called The Toxic Audit.
In the earlier stages of this programme, specifically Week 7 (Positive Mental Attitude) and Week 8 (Organised Planning), the focus was on clearing out mental blind spots, overcoming internal resistance, and writing initial future goals into clear words. But if you try to execute a high-performance life blueprint using a sluggish, chemically altered physical system, your engine will inevitably stall. Week 9 acts as a vital bridge, taking the unshakeable momentum and order established in Week 8, and applying it directly to your biological efficiency.
Even if you're coming to this layout completely fresh, this post stands alone as a vital blueprint for anyone looking to eliminate brain fog, break out of repetitive routines, and reclaim peak daily energy.
Moving Out of Innocent Ignorance: What Week 9 Covers
Most people in the modern world live in a state of innocent ignorance, rationalised ignorance, or functional dependency. They try to out-hustle a toxic system, relying on everyday chemical modifiers to force their energy up in the morning, or numb the background noise of a stressful lifestyle at night.
In Week 9, students of the programme confront the raw data of their daily intake by running a strict 7-Day Chemical Inventory. This phase is completely straight-to-the-point, clinical, and fact-based. It requires total responsibility to log every single substance that enters your system, mapping the exact physiological price you pay for relying on everyday crutches:
Alcohol (The Depressant and Disruptor):
We break down how this neurotoxin slows the central nervous system, impairs the prefrontal cortex (the area responsible for logic and long-term planning), and completely destroys your deep sleep architecture.
Refined Sugar (The Dopamine Trap):
We examine the chemical reality of insulin spikes and rapid crashes, illustrating how a diet high in processed foods triggers systemic inflammation, chronic lethargy, and persistent brain fog.
Excessive Caffeine (The False Altitude):
We expose how caffeine blocks adenosine receptors to hide your true exhaustion rather than giving you genuine energy, keeping your body trapped in an unmanaged state of fight-or-flight.
By tracking these inputs against a strict 1-to-10 scoring system - ranging from 'Anchors' that make you feel heavy and sluggish to 'Rockets' that leave you feeling light and focused - you gain the awareness required to decide whether a specific habit requires a minor lifestyle adjustment, or a complete system purge.
Understanding the Internal Machinery: The 4 Gateway States
A key feature covered in the Week 9 curriculum is the mechanical breakdown of how habits and dependencies actually function inside your brain and tissue. To intercept a negative routine, you must understand the four distinct states of the mind-body gateway:
State 1: 5 Senses Rule (Mental Habit):
External stress or boredom triggers a weak justification loop in your conscious mind. Your brain manufactures a 'crooked alibi' - such as, "I've had a brutal day, I've earned this" - and your physical body executes the routine on absolute autopilot.
State 2: Cellular Rule (Chemical Crisis):
The habit has migrated deep into a hardware crisis. Your tissue has mutated to a toxic baseline. Withholding the substance causes an intense energy deficit, firing a neurochemical survival panic that knocks your reasoning completely offline.
State 3: Aligned Servants (Conscious Interception):
Your higher faculties function as elite gatekeepers. You enter the Friction Junction - the cravings are actively screaming in your cells, but you forcefully hold the line, and freeze your physical actions before reaching for the fix.
State 4: Subconscious Calibrated (Clean Recovery Loop):
The internal wires are entirely clear of static. Your subconscious engine room is fused in absolute harmony with your conscious goals, running your ultimate life targets as an automatic default software script.
Solution: 10-Minute Purpose Strike
Week 9 doesn't just highlight the hidden barriers in your chemistry; it provides a highly practical, real-time tactical tool for handling intense cravings.
A craving isn't a sign of failure - it's simply Unallocated Energy. Your body is revving its internal engine, but you don't have a gear engaged yet. Because a craving is a raw physical vibration, you cannot simply think it away; you must out-vibrate it through an immediate physical act.
When a physical urge hits, instead of sitting there trying to resist it, you run a 10-Minute Purpose Strike. You capture that sudden surge of physical energy and instantly invest it straight into a micro-goal that supports your future:
Researching your ascent by studying a professional training course or certification.
Auditing your blueprint by making a high-altitude edit to your business plan or CV.
Taking a fitness flight by dropping into a set of push-ups or heading straight to the gym to force your body to exert energy through movement instead of toxins.
Entering a nature flow by walking outside to step clear of environmental triggers.
Preparing for the Deep Edit
The ultimate benefit of completing this biological audit is that it perfectly sets the stage for Week 10: Subconscious Reprogramming. By clearing out the physical static and tracking your chemical inventory in Week 9, your internal transceiver becomes sharper, cleaner, and vastly more reliable. You clear the tunnels so that when the programme transitions into rewriting the source code of your identity in the final weeks, your subconscious engine has nothing but pristine, clean fuel to run on.
Stop trying to build a premium, bespoke lifestyle on top of a chemically altered foundation. Run an honest audit of your inventory, master your physical instrument, and step into an uncompromised state of self-mastery.
Facing the Reality of the Baseline
When taking an honest look at current physical habits, it can be uncomfortable. For many, what starts as a casual way to unwind can transform into a deeply ingrained routine. Over decades of repeating these patterns, the subtle shift in baseline becomes impossible to ignore.
Signs that a routine is escalating include:
Growing Portions: The amount consumed to achieve a mental break keeps increasing.
Faster Consumption: The speed of consumption accelerates as the body anticipates a physical shift.
Increased Strength: Higher potency is sought because previous levels no longer suffice.
Diminishing Returns: The temporary relief no longer feels as satisfying.
Escalating Consequences: Fatigue, brain fog, and impacts on productivity become severe.
Altered Vitality: Physical appearance and stamina levels change noticeably.
Emotional Numbing: A sense of distance throughout the day, interrupted only by intense emotional outbursts.
Recognising these patterns doesn't mean an individual is broken; it signifies that the current trajectory requires redirection. Relying on external excuses is a common trap, but reclaiming control is possible once the decision is made to prioritise personal potential over default loops.
Defining Choice: Moderation vs Obliteration
A critical phase of personal development involves answering a clear question regarding physical inputs: Is the goal to Moderate or to Obliterate?
The Audit Decision
MODERATION
Conscious, strict boundary control
Substance remains a minor element
Requires constant, active gating
Best for non-dependent scenarios
OBLITERATION
Total removal of the substance
Complete system purge
Dissolves the default loop entirely
Essential for deep hardware resets
True transformation becomes possible only when stepping out of vague wishes and making a final, uncompromised decision. Regardless of age - whether in your twenties, thirties, forties, fifties, or sixties - there comes a point where a line must be drawn to move towards a new future.
Grounded in Practical Strategy
This framework is built upon the necessity of survival and redirection. Rather than relying on abstract theories, the focus remains on the biological and mental architecture required to clear internal hurdles. These strategies are designed for those seeking to discover a sense of purpose, and move from functional dependency toward absolute self-mastery.
The aim is to provide a structure that resonates with the need for a definite choice. Everyone deserves a daily experience driven by genuine passions rather than temporary physical escapes.
Clear the Sludge and Keep Moving
As the ascent continues, keeping your eyes locked on the ultimate destination is essential. Living with true purpose requires clarity; carrying toxic baggage only exhausts the system.
Eventually, the path backward disappears because the old comfort zones can no longer satisfy the person emerging from this process.
Stop letting default habits sabotage future potential. Run the audit, select the path, and choose to design a life instead of merely drifting through it.
This is the starting point of how to detox your body.
I say this because of my own relationship struggles with addiction so trust me when I say - I know and I get it! You'll always get people online and in your life that give you some sort of pep talk which makes it sounds instantly motivational and easy, but you need to forgive their ignorance of experience.
If they really knew what bad habits are and how they can morph into addictions; they wouldn't be saying the things they do in an attempt to HELP. They just don't get it and it's not their fault.
You're intake, routine, habits, and behaviours, usually stems from some sort of coping mechanism to silence a feeling or emotion that came from an experience or event that happened. But at the time you probably wasn't able to cope and manage it because you didn't understand the potential side effects of what happened. This is Innocent Ignorance in it's most primal form.
Always seek professional support where you can to help with substances, and this includes food. Anything we put into our body needs to be moderated for a healthy effect to occur. Therefore, if you find that you've tried a thousand times and nothing is changing - it's deeper than surface level routines, or simple bad habits that you can change with conscious awareness, and a better strategy for your day-to-day.
