We use our higher faculties everyday but not in the healthiest of ways...here's something to brighten up your day!

Let's get into the 6 higher faculties according to Bob Proctor and how they can enhance your life experience. We live on a restricted 5 sense physical earth because we're taught and conditioned to focus and interpret the world around us from a limited vantage point.


This is an awesome subject that will expand your awareness of self and I can almost guarantee that there's no going back to mundane normality after getting your head around this, so lets go...

The six higher faculties

  • Imagination: The ability to create new ideas and visions in the mind

  • Memory: The ability to recall information and experiences

  • Intuition: A form of inner knowing or insight

  • Will: The ability to focus your mental energy and control your thoughts

  • Reason: The capacity for logical thought and analysis

  • Perception: How you interpret and understand your surroundings and experiences

     

Why is this important?


Because we live in environments & our environments affect our thinking, moods, abilities and actions.


We can create our own unique environments as human beings which is pretty darn cool if you ask me. We have these amazing mental/intellectual abilities within our minds and when we harness the power of these correctly, as a species we achieve wonderful things - and so can you.




If someone says they can see ghosts then to them, they see ghosts - if we can't see them we won't believe them!

Let's focus just on perception!


Our perception is key - when trying to understand the higher faculties, I suggest starting with this because how we see the world directly affects our experiences in ways that limit our behaviours and therefore restrict our potential results. (PERCEPTION IS DIRECTLY LINKED TO OUR BELIEFS)


Example.

Let's say that you want to get a bit fitter and drop a few jean sizes. You've got a goal which is great but what if that goal is immediately being sabotaged the moment it's created?


What if you think, 'well the gym is full of absolute vain and arrogant bullies and door knobs who are just shallow and up their own poop shoots.' Maybe then you think, 'why do I have to conform to the skinny latte, beauty is duty and all that stuff!' Or 'I am beautiful as I am, belly tires, flappy backs, jiggle jugs etc.'


Well unfortunately, many of us do exactly this - we automatically put restrictions upon the achievement of our goal within a fraction of a second and why - because our subconscious mind, raises a subtle red flag based on all of our individual insecurities, negativities and learned fears - whether they are real or not, whether there is true reason for apprehension or not, whether the goal is achievable or not.


How does it do it? With subtly...just a tiny speck of worry or doubt to start with - the subconscious injects a small amount of emotion or feeling along with a conscious word or two and BAM - all of a sudden our goals are starting to unravel before we've even developed them...talk about a complex system!


BUT WE CAN CHANGE THIS BY DEVELOPING OUR PERCEPTION OF OURSELVES, OTHER PEOPLE, THE WORLD AND LIFE ITSELF.


Most people might agree that it's not a rocket science idea and probably makes perfect sense but then something kicks in and we don't go down the rabbit hole of perception. WHY?


One reason is the stupid thing of sayings that we collectively believe, such as the rabbit hole. Most of us are taught that if you go down into a niche, obscure, unknown hole of knowledge exploration, we'll get stuck or eaten or buried alive and never get out - it's all fear-based philosophical reasoning to keep us at surface level thought!


WE HAVE TO GO DEEP!



Once we begin to consciously observe our thoughts around a certain thing, theme, subject or whatever, quite often our perception will start to change because we become aware of the exact thoughts we have - that's awareness.


Most of us don't do this because we're so busy trying to survive in this busy and distracting life that we quite literally don't have the energy to sit, observe, reflect, reform and go again! So what do we do - 'we carry on as normal' - meaning we go back to the 5 sense conditioning and focus on what's right in front of us, whilst denying what's actually going on within us.



Sounds simple right! The hardest thing we'll ever do is consciously force ourself to observe the real us, the real you. Most of us don't want to open a can of worms by going within so we keep the lid tightly on...another silly saying - but again, it also depends on how the individual interprets it.



Because perception and our belief systems are so intertwined, it's not difficult to see why so many of us don't peek behind the veil - once you see that magicians aren't magic and that you've been deceived in some way, even lightly for entertainment, you can only go back to your previous perception of magic by delusion of truth - but you will always know deep down what's really happening and it will eat away at you until it consumes you from within.


This is a story we tell ourself and we'll use reasoning, intellect and all that great mental power to deceive us from a truth we KNOW is real - WHY?


We potentially would have to re-think everything we've ever thought about and question it all - this scares the heck out of us because we've spent most of our life trying to find some peace with the reality we find ourselves in, which was exhausting - and now we've got to question it all over again - re-write all of the automatic programmes...NOOOOOOOOOOOO!


It's overwhelming, there's no doubt about that. Absolutely get it, been there, got the t-shirts etc

This is an overview blog I know but we can change our perception of anything over time by repetition and a willingness to commit to the process.



I know some people believe the earth is flat and it's a valid belief so I hope you can skip past this aspect and focus on the message of truth and change - our beliefs affect our perception and our perception controls our actions which influences our results!


Let me try bringing it all together when referring to higher faculties...


There's a lot of moving parts here but let's give it a go anyway!

In practical scenarios like problem-solving or goal-setting, these faculties operate in a typical sequence of interdependence, not individual abilities. They work in harmony with each other and the order in which they're sequenced will vary depending on what your thinking about & what questions you are asking yourself etc.


  • Perception allows you to see a current problem or opportunity from a specific point of view

  • Memory provides a "mental archive" of past experiences to inform how you might handle the situation

  • Intuition acts as a pattern-recognition system, offering a "gut feeling" or instant insight based on that stored experience

  • Imagination takes these inputs to visualize potential new solutions or future realities that do not yet exist

  • Reason then steps in to logically analyse these imagined ideas and create a structured plan

  • Will provides the sustained focus required to ignore distractions and hold that vision until it is realized


ERM...so like, our higher faculties help us think clearer???

Our higher faculties help us to create our own environment by thinking intellectually about what we really want, then going on a conscious journey within to seek those answers - most people think about their futures because they're not happy with their present moment - with that in mind...


Meaning that, we can time travel backwards with memory, forwards with imagination. We can perceive multiple ways of looking at the same thing by shifting our perception and gaining new insights. We can feel a sense of clarity 'intuition/gut feeling' when we think a specific thought or hear/see something of significance. We can use reason to help us make sense of something we are thinking, hearing, seeing etc which allows us to clarify or validate a new thought/idea/concept/belief. We can develop an emotional commitment of discipline, perseverance and determination to achieve a new goal or develop a new habit.


I know that other people will explain this clearer and in particular I'm sure AI will make is easy to follow but the reason I write the way I do is because of this - as human beings we need relatability when it comes to potentially accepting a new line of thought.


Sometimes AI and other humans will simplify a full concept or theology into just a few words and afterwards they might as well say 'ta dar'. As if there you go, I've done all the hard work for you, this is all you need to know, it's really simple, anyone can understand this because all the complexity has been taken out of it.


IT'S BULL SHIPS...it's an insult to our intelligence. Be very aware of social media and AI or anybody that just spreads simple quotes and phrases or doesn't offer explanations to complicated aspects of life.

NUTSHELL...


The mind is the 5 senses and the higher faculties together - all integrated as one. We need all aspects of the mind working in unison and the reason most of us struggle with change is because we've been taught from childhood to find solutions to our 5 sense world using the 5 sense consciousness.


Consciousness isn't in the 5 senses - that's the body consciousness!


When you start using the higher faculties, you will begin to develop an awareness of self that is transformational beyond belief. This is because our minds will be fully synced and possibly for the first time ever which will be mind blowing, in the best possible way.


It doesn't mean that all your problems will go away or that you'll have super human powers - sometimes awareness can trigger more difficulties because we have more unanswered questions. But this is why it's important to be grounded, to know in advance that seeking ones truth will ultimately be worth it but unattainable if we're not prepared for the journey.


My recommendation - learn about the higher faculties of the mind - explore this by becoming consciously aware of its existence. As adults we give up on the learning process because we've already experienced so much but don't let this ego way of thinking keep you from your greatness.


You moment you think you know it all, you stop growing - there's no improvement in the assumption of knowing enough. If you accept that you really don't know a darn thing in the grand scheme, then you'll be one step closer to developing a winning attitude towards your life.



Let's look at things a little differently...

Remember that we're all different and if we give our energies to how others perceive the world or us then we give our energy away. Focus your energy on yourself and those you love & care for. We have one life that we know of so make the most of it x
